With IFTTT pushing really hard for paid tiers (for instance, you can only have two applets now unless paid) I would like to see the notifications move away from relying Only on IFTTT. Personally I run a SMTP Relay and have been using it for all internal service emails, would it be a big deal to use a Python mail client to send a notification instead of IFTTT? Can even send SMS that way. Even better, if you don't rely on an external service for such notifications alerts can be more reliable.
